NEW THOUGHT MUSIC WEEK
September 14-20, 2008
Posi Awards & Mega PosiPalooza!
September 14&15, 2008
Imagine an entire week focused on music, peace, and transformation. Such is the nature of New Thought Music Week, a celebration co-sponsored each year by Itoi Ministries and the Association of Unity Churches International.
The Week grew from a conference called Sound Connections, sponsored by the Association of Unity Churches International and launched in 2005 for Unity music directors and ministers. Today New Thought Music Week has expanded to include the original conference components as well as concerts, workshops, discussions and performances aimed at a wider audience. Attendees now include not only New Thought music directors and ministers, but also nationally touring artists, their fans and a variety of other industry professionals.
NTMW offers something for everyone in New Thought music, including:
- The annual Posi Awards honoring the best New Thought songs and songwriters of the year;
- Workshops on music promotion, performance, songwriting, booking, etc. offered by some of the most accomplished independent artists in the country.
- Hugely popular late-night “Pajama Jam” music showcases, where fans and musicians meander from one hotel room to the next to listen to and sing with their favorite artists.
- “Spirit Sharing” sessions, where songwriters and artists can perform their original music in front of attendees
- An interfaith peace worship service
- Two concerts: The annual Mega-PosiPalooza concert and the Keynote concert, with two special guest artists
- Songwriting sessions for “Songs of Love,” where participants can write a custom song for a child experiencing traumatic or life-threatening illness.
- Discovering up-and-coming New Thought artists
- Networking, Networking, Networking! for work and for friendship
The week provides all of the elements for a transformational experience for artists, fans, singers, songwriters, music directors and music industry entrepreneurs.
